Create your own tonttu and learn something new about the role of these elusive household spirits in the Finnish mindset!
New to Finland? Do you wish you could understand the Finnish way of life a little better? As humans, we are deeply influenced by the stories we tell one another. Come along and hear some of the stories that makes Finns who they are!
During the experience you will:
learn something new about the role of tonttus (Finnish spirits of the household) in local folklore, customs, and the Finnish mindset.
craft your own tonttu keepsake out of felt and other natural materials
welcome your tonttu into the world with a short drum ritual
sample Finnish sweet treats over a hot beverage of your choice
The event will take place in our atmospheric and whimsical fantasy tavern space (Tarinoiden taverna), in Pikisaari a short walk from centre of Oulu.
Please note that a minimum of three (3) participants is required for each event. If fewer than three participants have registered 8 hours prior to the scheduled start time, the event will be cancelled and all participation fees will be refunded.
